I dont know Alex, but im betting drunk too!
Right few points to catch up on. I wont go into detail, but, been a UTD fan since 1990, my Dad was, so I am, always will be, I love them with a pasion, maybe too much.
I wasnt born in Carlisle, but lived here a long time and I follow them. I cant claim to be a suppoorter, but i was gueninley gutted for them last 2 weekends, especially as our guitarists are season ticket holders. Think its ok to route for them, just cant claim to be a proper supporter. Nothing to do with league position.
UTD season tickets have been reasonably priced for a long time, even with the 10% average increase for next season, theyll be on the cheaper side.
The title isnt won yet. Ive seen stranger things happen in football and remeber that there was effectively a 5 point swing on Saturday. It really loked like only goal difference might sepaerate UTD and Chelsea. You can say UTD were lucky, (1st goal was huge), but its a sign of great teams to win games like that. In the 90's UTD were masters of last minute goals. Over past 2 seasons, Chelsea have scored a bagfull of late goals. Some will call it luck, but it happens to often to be so. Its called character. Luck plays a part, clearly, but its much more than that. You cant be just lucky over 38 games.
Scotland. Rangers and Celtics home form would definately keep them up there, as theyve shown in European competitions. But I dont think they would challenge for the title, not yet anyway. They have a tremendous fan base, so have the foundations to build from. But i think theyre behind the top 4 and a long way behind top 2, especially over the cousre of a season. But, we wont really know untill we see it. Its pretty hard to judge over Cup competetions.
Think thats all topics covered. ;D

Kaka showed Ronaldo what to do when you are the best player in the world aagin last night.

No excuses. I dont think I've ever seen Man Utd collectively play that badly.

They were pretty terrible. Ronaldo and Rooney didn't get a sniff. Hopefully this weekend will bring a decent consolation.

I dread to think how mental Alex was going during that game. Still, I loved every second of it.

they were queuing to get in pubs around here, couldn't be doing with that so listened to it on the radio. Rather dissapointing I must say, did ManYoo just have an off day or were Milan just amazing? Sounded like Ronaldo's little step overs and stuff didn't get him very far last night

It was surreal. It was one of the worst displays ive seen. The most dissapointing thing was the apparent lack of effort. I really have no idea what happened.
Milan played well, but nothing spectacular. Infact, the final 30 mins, they were nervey and should ahve been punished. We were accountable for every goal. The 2nd, well that was just unreal. I will never understand what Gabs was doing. It was crucial point too. We'd just started to show a glimpse of football and then his madness killed the game.
In the long run, being such a young team, it may have a positive effect. Sometimes the bad times make players better. All the great teams have had heartache. But, im slightly worried about Saturday now. If we play like that again, well get done by City, then the gap could be 2 and a trip to the Bridge to follow. I still think theyll pull through though.
For some reason, our experianced players had shockers and it affected the younger lads. Doesnt make them bad players.
Anyone who comes on here and crucifies Rooney, Ronaldo, Carrick and co for one night, is an idiot and knows nothing about football.
This team has the potential to go on and be one of the all time greats.

One other thinbg that baffled me was the lack of subs. We needed a spark and had to have agamble on Sahas pace and power, Smiths passion or Olis finshing skills. I cant believe Fergie waited till the 76th minute.
That was bizzare.

Anyone who thinks Darren Fletcher is a football player after last night should be shot. Shocking display from him again last night. I might not be his biggest fan but no-one could defend that sorry excuse of a performance last night.
Nor Chelsea or Man Utd showed up this week. long tough season showing through.

Yeah Blair, definitely true. Think how exhausted the teams must be at this point in the season.

I'm actually surprised you picked out Fletcher above everyone else. O'Shea and Fletcher get a lot of stick, but having watched nearly every United game of the season, they have been unsung heroes for us. Fergie always mentions Fletcher in the same breath as Ronaldo and Rooney as his best young players and I dont disagree with him. Its Giggs, Carrick, Brown and Heinze you really should be criticising. Though no one but VDS had a good night.
He dazzles you, he dazzles me...Fletchy. Youre goddamn right.

Its not just Blair to be fair. The majority of UTD supporters dislike Fletcher too. He had serious bad luck with 2 major injuries as a late teen and it holted his physical progress imparticular. He only started weight training last season and i think its quite noitceable. Hes stronger, fitter and quicker. Hes not as gifted as some, but he does have vision and a good engine. Think he's starting to turn into at least a very good squad player.
Im not convinced about Oshea as much. I thought his distribution on Wednesday was shocking. He panicked and often booted the ball straight back to Milan. I saw his home debut at centre back and he was amazing. Had 50,000 singnig his name. He read the game well, was strong brave and confident on the ball. He had a great first season and Left back but since then hes lost his way a bit. Its not all his fault, he played in at least 4 different positions. So his versatility may have worked against him and im really not sure what his best position is. It may be he's the long term replacement for Neville, but im slightly worried by a lack of pace. W have a few options dfor the future anyway.
But back to Fletcher and wednesday, that was well harsh. He was one of the better perfomances. David's totally right about VDS too, only stand out performance for me.
What you think of Foster? He looks the part to me. But I reckon VDS has at least one more season. At this stage of his career Foster probably wont benefit from a season on the bench, occasional league games cup runs. Its hard to balance. I really think he could be our keeper for next 10 years or so. So important if he goes out on loan again, we dont lose him.
Anyway, enough blabbing. Watch Fletcher, he reminds me a bit of Lampard at the same age. Theyre very different players, but were at a similar point at the same age. I remember a lot questioned his big money move to Chelsea. Hes done ok. Fletcher will never score that amount of goals, but he can still contribute.
Also, while im here. 3 awards for Ronaldo. Scholes and Giggs pop up again. Must be coincedence aye.

I never used to be confident about O'Shea, but now I am. I saw one of his first games for United at Old Trafford. Remember him nutmegging someone and beating them down the line, hilarious. But no, I've grown to really like him, I'm relieved to have him in our squad.
Foster is good, but Kuszack is far more experienced. As long as we can keep Foster happy over the next few years, persuade him to bide his time, then he'll be okay. A good English keeper will be a great addition.
Quite excited about Eagles too. Apparently he played a major part in getting Watford promoted. As for Richardson - he always gets booed when he comes on. Even the pub I was in watching the game at Everton errupted in "Fucks sake eh". But I see a definate improvement, especially against Everton. Needs to retain possesion more but he's got energy to burn. I hope he breaks through.

Think Kuzack is a good 2nd keeper. Hes relaible, much like Raymond VG was behind Schmeichel . It would be great to have an English spine of Foster, Rio, Carrick and Rooney. Maybe throw Hargreaves in there too. Well see.
Eagles has always had talent, hes been about for a long time now. I was excited 3 years ago, not too sure now. He always looks a step above in the reserves and has good loan reports. Maybe his finish at Everton will give him the belief. Well see.
Richardson has an attitude problem i think. He clearly has talent, but I dont think he has the head for UTD. Hes had a few chances now and if we want to stay up top, Richardson wont help, in my opinion.
We do have some real talent in the reserves though. Obviously Rossi. Pique looks like a young Rio to me. Very calm on the ball and hes been outstanding in Spain this season. Bardsley reminds me of Neville. Has the same UTD passion anyway, not as good going forward though. Danny Simpsons pretty good attacking full back. Evans and Cathcart are getting good reprts. Lee Martin is exciting.
Blair, what did you think of him? He loves to run with the ball, good feet too. Darren Gibson is a talent too in the middle of the park. Its always hard to judge at that age though. Guess well jsut have to wait a couple of years. Players like Rooney, Ronaldo and Fabergras are quite rare breeds. Its normally by about 20-23 you can tell about a player. I think that anyway

Bardsley & Martin won't be at United long if this season is anything to go by.
Martin started of very promisingly but is very lightweight and is a one trick pony. Injury prone as well.
Bardsley seems to be a mouthy cunt. Shown the door early up here and looked very average. To look worse than Alan Hutton up here means you're pish. Apparently he's been shite at Villa too.
And to prove that Fletcher is pish, watch him in a Scotland jersey. When he doesn't have the comfort of good players everywhere turns.

im sorry blair but you are talking shite... i have not been fletchers biggest fan in the last three seasons but this season he has come on a great deal and he was by far the best player we had against milan, he looked lively and creative whilst scholes carrick and giggs around him were poor. for a young man thats awesome! and he has incredible ability and vision. he's been scotland's most consistent player over the last three years, he's become their main man! and they are doing very well at the moment
ive heard jonny evans is amazing
id like to see us sign tevez
and i didnt get too downhearted at the milan game because i knew it would be tough. and i dont get that annoyed if the best team wins, which they did. got annoyed with the referee though because he didnt book a milan player until the 76th minute when they kept commiting cyincal fouls all the way through the match but he just let them keep doing it
kaka is class, best player in the world... and gattuso isn't far behind him!
man city cant score at home hehehe
come on the gunners!

Barry Ferguson has been Scotland's main man for years mate. And Fletcher missed the last few games through injury, whilst they were doing well. You obviously don't watch him in a Scotland jersey which i base a huge part of my crtisism on. He's poor.
