Scholes and Rooney link up last night was what Lampard and Rooney should do for England. Ferguson knows how to play Rooney up front on his own and make him affective. McClaren doesn't have a bloody clue

That Scholes pass for Rooney's first goal was sheer class. England miss him a LOT.

I think Gerrard's every bit as good, we just need him to take that role for England. Simple as

Yeah, give fat frank the boot and let Gerrard shine. Not that I care about England anyways.

I love table!
Anyhooo, tonights game was, mmmmm, average. Set up nicely though for the 2nd leg.
While im here, any Liverpool fans out there? Why, is Gerrad played out wide for club and country?
I understand Benitez's like for 2 holding midfielders and even the logic behind Mclarens ploy. Basically to accomodate Lampard and Gerrard in same team.
BUT, hes Liverpools best player, he has to play in the middle, surely. Same for England. If you cant play Lampard and Gerrard, Mclaren has to have some balls and pick one. When i say one, i mean Gerrard.
But aye, thats a different matter entirely

I know no one who disagrees with you Blake. The only thing more idiotic than picking Lampard for England was deploying a holding midfielder against Andorra.

Me, i disagree.
As shown tonight.
Lampard offers more than Gerrard.
Lampard chances back, he can tackle and look at his goals. To this Gerrard doesn't compete. This includes him playing central.
You are all fools for believing Gerrard's hype.
p.s. How long will it be before Scotland overtake average England in the Fifa rankings?
My guess is not long.

Blair no way is Lampard a more complete footballer. The system at Chelsea gives him a totally free reign. He very rarely tracks back, he hovers in his channel and scores goals. His premiership record is outstanding and we all know hes a quality footballer. I just think that Gerrard has something extra. Pace, drive and from the middle hell create more as well as score goals. He can also tackle, he used to play a holding role for Liverpool in his early days. He's also a fucking brilliant right back. Im going off the point here. Lampards scoring record for England doesnt compare to his domestic one, if you cant play them both, its time to drop one. Play Gerrard, if he doesnt take his chance, you can always go back to Lampard.

The championship is maybe the best league in the world this year. The football has been amazing, totally unpredictable and played with more enthusiasm and passion than the prem.
Take tonight, burnley vs sunderland, what a fucking game. Plus there were nearly 45,000 there.

I've seen Coventry play thrice this year. They didn't seem very enthused.

I could do that every week with Rangers & Celtic, say there were over 51,000 at the game, it was a great game so it's the best league in the world. The football in the Championship in generally poor. Just because it is played at 100mph doesn't make it the best.

Shocking defensive collapse by Everton who had more than easily held a very average looking Man Utd side today. 3 gifted goals.
Chelsea awful. Nothing more than shite.
That's the league over. Would have preferred a grande finale but not to be.

Pisses all over the SPL put it that way! ;D As did the League One game at Brunton Park today, end-to-end start to finish with some fantastic football on show. Well done Carlisle for a fucking brilliant season, with one of the best supports in the country. Fuck your Man United's,Chelsea's, Celtics, Rangers thats all for the mediocre armchair,"oh i watch footy on tele" embarrasment of football fans.

And your fan pish is wrong. Rangers & Celtic fans are by far and away the best football fans in the world. No other side in the world have such a big and vocal travelling support. The same people that say the premiership is the best in the world are the same people that say the the lower leagues are ace. Absolute shite.
