Just to comment on the two new reviews.
First of all the Lord Bishop review seems to make the headliners somewhat of a footnote compared to Wasted Youth, which I'm not saying is at all bad in any way, but when you consider this is because the reviewer seems to be just talking about how funny her friends were in a chat they had afterwards (which unfortunately the rest of us didn't hear, it would have been a hoot though) and Wasted Youth's previous stage-antic history, it seemed a bit silly.
If the Snooky album is as good as is said, then thats great, but from the review i dont even know what type of music they play. but i DO know that Lee doesn't play guitar on Cant Complain live...which is lovely, but it doesn't really tell me what the song is like. at all. and that the first song is like, amazing, and the second song is, like, amazing...
sorry to be negative and all.

oh Adam. everyone knows ACDC should be written with a lightning bolt inbetween the AC and the DC. dont be a smartypie.
also, don't defend the woman. everyone likes Queen, and always have. If you dont, you just love AIDS. in honesty, its a rather stupid sentunce.

Like I said on the general board, Julie wrote what she felt was appropriate. As far as our wee interview goes, me and Craig were fairly fucked so it is just worthless dribble, but hey, we were having a laugh and thats what its all about isn't it? Half the reason there is so much about us is the fact that we asked her to come and write a review for us. she didnt have a bad thing to say about Lord Bishop but you are right though, she maybe could have expanded a bit. There would have been an interview with him if they werent all rushing to catch a plane to USA.
As far as the Queen and AD/DC bit goes, take into account the fact that alot of people of our *generation didn't listen to these bands until the darkness made it axcessible,*ie. trendies and fat fingers crowd etc. etc. etc. (these are just examples, no digs intended).
Maybe, not everyone is like you and always was a fan. It was a good point and maybe made in a way that has been misinterpreted.

Ooo er, I seem to have rattled a few cages! Firstly, just want to say that, as Rich said, I would have interviewed the headliners as well had they not had to leave so abruptly. However, I don’t see a problem in concentrating more on the local band - the purpose of this website is to promote local music after all. And yes, this being Carlisle, you will be hard-pressed to find a band to review that doesn’t have at least someone in it you know. I wholly agree that if you’re going to let that influence what you say then you shouldn’t write anything at all. Finally, I think I may have given the wrong impression with the Darkness thing. All I meant was that there will be kids who would not have listened to Queen before who will get into them now that it is ‘socially acceptable’ because the Darkness - who seem to be Queen fans - happen to be fashionable right now. I am not endorsing this attitude or in any way saying the Darkness are superior to Queen (fuck no).

That could be fun... of course not all bands are as entertaining as Wasted Youth

1. The only really good Queen song is 'Hammer to Fall'. 2. I have always found that the 'Fat Fingers' crowd are the ones that sing 'Bohemian Rhapsody'/'Living on a Prayer' whilst in their cups, not 'us'.
