Who would you deem as a truly great 'inspirational' band from the past? to be honest i think most of the music i like owes more to 50's rock and roll and blues than anything else. however i don't actually like any of it! i like 70's music,i just don't like prog rock. inspirational bands to me would include the misfits, the dead kennedys and the descendents. and black sabbath. jefferson airplane were good, that's decent 60's music to me,that and the beach boys. so there you go...

I should explain that I do like big rock bands (a la airplane and sabbath), but I preferr to listen to the somewhat quirkier precursors that the staium guys leap-frog up from.

stadium rock is why i picked up a geetar. i wanted to be Slash, quite glad my pancreas hasn't exploded yet though.
still to my mind the coolest guy ever though. barring maybe Keef or Hilly (as we all know OAP's don't count).
