got there bout 7ish to find out 3 of the bands ended up not playing so off to a great start! NB: there was a constant stream of people drinking and smoking outside the venue, yey...
1st band were a covers band, not really my thing as they lacked any passion and IMO they were playing backing music for the vocalist and not actual note for note covers.
headed off to the sportsman before 2nd band
Unsure who they were but they had that local indie band sound so after a couple of songs it was back to the pub.
Repeat
So got back at around 10ish for a weaker way, NB the dj inbetween bands was pretty good as he played a mix of upfront metal, although a lot of it was a bit too angry "i hate my dad" metal IMO.
Anyhoo heres where it goes downhill...
there are a few charvs and a few "nazi punks" who im sorry are about as punk or nazi as a turd, oh and at least a turd leaves when its not wanted or needed.
a few fist fights here and there as well as a few dumb threats and a total atmosphere killer the band finally start their set. NB venue has emptied out considerably.
they done around 30mins of emo/fashioncore similar to 18visions, aiden etc, v v enjoyable, but as with "metal" gigs there are always a few donuts who wanna mosh and push people around who just wanna stand watching a band! jeez just cuz people arent "expressing anger" at the first sound of anything remotley heavy doesnt mean they arent having fun, IMO people who watch and take notice of a band will come away with a better opinion of a band as theyre not twatting around like a school kid on red bull.
to be fair most of the moshing people realised they were in the minority so made their own space.
still think the punk twats were there tho, ah yes they were, they were making fun of a churchworker "fuck the system"... and all that. mind u they were drunk on cheap lager/cider so best leave them to it in their own lil world of misguided opinions and bootleg ramones tops.
unsure whether therell be another all ages as last nite showed that some people of that age and mentality cant simply watch a band in peace.
shame really.
