ye gods! And here's a little about the acts: SHE KILLS Heinous garage rock with clever bits. And big hairy knackers. And tunes. Rumour has it that even Greg likes them. THE ADVENTURES OF LOKI Rock action with a seething feminine side - a blistering blend of Dead Kennedys, PJ Harvey and Sonic Youth flavours. ZEUS Alsterdam's chief export, formerly Doctor Zeus - gigged here with Winterville and Let Airplanes Circle Overhead. How Gomez might sound after fourteen hours in a lift with Frank Zappa. FADING FACE A lysergic cocktail of pre-electric Marc Bolan and pre-Mississippi Jeff Buckley. (plus shit-hot rock & roll/ psych deejays - Bittersweet Chris, Captain Titpuncher and O.D. Catastrophe) ...and all the acts are currently in the Top 8 Friends of the MySpace below, if you'd like to try before you buy :-) £3 tickets are available now from Cafe Sol, where there'll be a pre-gig gathering on the night - 7pm.

Really looking forward to this one. She Kills being one of the only bands round here i actually look forward to seeing.
Also looking forwrd to seeing Fading Face, not seen him play but as a person he is the most unique character i have ever met. You'll know what i mean when you see him.
Should be a good 'un!

Im pleased it got a bigger right up than the Little Man Tate gig, local band and promoter putting on there own rock n roll gig deserves a big write up.
Ill be putting a Love and a Syd Barrett tune on tomorrow as a tribute. The She Kills crowd should get it.

My review:
My head and tummy hurts.
Great night Fading Face is a legend.
She Kills were quality, really good atmosphere for them, to see such a good turn out for a local unsigned band is fucking ace.

Missed the first band, the rest were okay, nothing really grabbed my attention. Zeus were slightly amusing at times though.

I have trouble remembering where one band finished and the next started. That's my fault though, not theirs.
Still, a good night had by all.

just want to say thanks to everyone who helped spread the word about the gig, and everyone who pitched in on the night - the deejays especially and thanks to the folks on here who've had kind words to say, and everyone who made it down on the night. it's all reassuring.
