One to miss, methinks...are they big enough to fill the venue? Did anybody see the interview with the guy from The Sands where he stated that we should have purpose-built venue because they had to turn down The Who due to a pre-booked karate exhibition?

The Sands is full of gay.
The reason that almost every venue in town got torn down in the 80's was because the sands was meant to replace them... now they're saying they can't do proper gigs... not to mention the quality of the bands they are booking...
and yes, lost prophets will probably fill the place. gayers.

the zutons just played and lostprophets and the ordinary boy this autumn...
may not be everyone's cup of tea but at least its bands we've all heard of that play similar sized venues. hopefully this may be the start of better more modern things for the sands as opposed to bjorn again and foster&allen lol

yeah, they're making a bit of an effort now. Even so, should have been done 10 - 15 years ago. Then fighting to get a live music scene happening in Carlisle might not be such a struggle...
To be fair though, Ian is making a good effort. As long as they keep this up past this financial year, I might even think about praising the sands.
