Friday, 5th May @ The BrickyardThe Pedantics www.myspace.com/thepedanticsThe Echo Session www.myspace.com/theechosessionThe Lyons & Tygers www.myspace.com/lyonsandtigersA typically Scouse/Bandwagon feel to this night helped along the way with it also being the official THE ZUTONS AFTERSHOW PARTY! The Pedantics from Liverpool who were formely The Bandits who had chart successs in 2003 and an album talked about in high circles! The new band have played recent shows with the Kooks and the La's. The Echo Session bring great support for the night as they do to any of the great bands who come from the Scouseland. Lyons & Tigers are the most entertaining band to ever come out of the jungle, Well ok, they're from Liverpool, but have you actually been there lately? Awesome!!

Supported the Bandits at Whitehaven Civic a couple of years ago. Really good band and dead ordinary, nice guys. Couldn't understand why they never made it bigger than they did considering some of the stuff out there. Well worth seeing.

Steve you are a comedy genius.
Great night, thoroughly enjoyed all bands!
Lyons & Tigers hotly tipped for band of the year.
Except I had to clear the "tight pants" from the stage this afternoon....

Just like to say a big thankyou to anyone from here who came down to this night. A great time was had by all.
And as someone said yesterday it was amazing to see the place jam packed for three unsigned and unheard (up here anyway) acts, The Pedantics, The Lyons & Tigers, and The Echo Session.
I would like to hope the people who came to this gig (who only attend The Brickyards big gigs) will have realised there's good live music to be heard in this city. But only time will tell?
Remember we've got a follow up to this night organised by Chris Planks, Saturday June 3rd with acts: The Maybes?, The Heat, 3D Tanx & Steve McCormick.

Beatin Planks was started by Johnny Notman(Beatin Planks on the forum). Its now basically me and Johnny putting on gigs or DJing for gigs at The Brickyard. I personaly and im sure its the same with Johnny its trying to turn gigs into more an 'event' with the bands we book and songs we DJ. As anyone present on Thur/Fri could maybe see what we are trying to do.
