COULD THIS BE THE BEST MUSIC NEWS IN DECADES?
GREAT TIMING, SEEING AS POPULAR MUSIC AT THE MOMENT IS JUST A FUCKING FASHION PARADE WITH ALL THESE 'NU-RAVE' MUPPETS.
THOUGHTS?

Speaking of fashion parades Chris, how many bands have reformed in the last five years? Probably more than those who have split up. Great timing.
My next door neighbour likes to play Richard Ashcroft and the Verve everyday, very loudly at 9am. So I personally can't say I'm excited. But I know a lot of people who will be.

I don't get it. Unfinished business? Money problems? Ashcrofts career's hit the fan?

haha i like the excited statement of "the best music news in decades!"... which was clearly my birth on the 14th of december 1985
i'm quite intriuged, good luck to them i say. david im sure the verve didnt reform just to be fashionable. english music needs a kick up the arse anyway, all my favourite albums since about 1997 are by american and canadian artists. one things for sure they wont be as good as they were on their debut album a storm in heaven

Didn't really mean its a fashion statement, its just a trend which is getting less shocking and more boring by the minuite. Wouldn't be surprised if Kurt Cobain's pulped brain and Elliott Smiths stabbed up chest reformed at the moment. And lets face it, the only band to have reformed and are actually any good are the Stooges, who creeped out the entire audience on Jonanthan Ross. Yes.

Never liked the Verve, until Lee played me some real early shit on tour last year. Pretty good. Always thought ashcroft was a dick till I actually heard him speak. Im so uneducated in many ways.

Nick McCabe has got more talent in one inch of his foreskin, than all of the so called "musicians" you get nowadays put together

The Thaw Sessions is fucking incredible. Best new stuff i've heard in years.
That tune is a massive "fuck you" to the cynics. End of.
7 days til Glasgow, come on!

Glasgow was an absolute riot! the atmosphere was incredible. At Blackpool Nick McCabe showed just how much of a fucking genius on the guitar he is. The new song (that they play live) is sounding fucking incredible! Can't wait for the album now.
