Haha. That's a pretty entertaining read. Shame we've not had that kind of debate for a while on here. We should have a 'one year on' post.

In my opinion, it was the night everyone finally pulled together.
Untill then, there were HUGE differences between people within the scene and within weeks of this, it all got a bit cosier and there is now huge mutual respect and genuine friendship between us.
All in all, i miss it, i wish it was still there, i wish i was still there.

The whole Skiddle thing got done over & over though, got really boring and did nothing for no-one.

Are you taking the piss Blair?
Seriously.
Some folks round here are still healing the wounds of shit that night and you decide to bring it back up.
Its ok for you up in Glasgow doing fuck all here but think about those who live round here.

I for one just found it an interesting read. Mate you have to stop taking everything so personally.

Read that thread. Not pleasant reading.
As for the Skiddle thing being done and over....that would be nice if it were so as someone decided to stir some shit up on the Wickerman Festival forum (hosted by Skiddle) and generally, moan, bitch, twist things around, and whine about the ticket prices etc under an alias (or 3).
If the debate, anger, whatever, stays on here, that's fine, but when it spills over to an area connected with a big event that many people are putting together, and then new people onto the forum will read it and get a negative feeling - that's when this gets personal. And that's the trouble with this forum - a lot of people want it both ways. Instead of a debate, it either gets stupid with a 'I'm not listening!' reply or someone tries to make sure the shit hits the fan.
Just thought I'd add that one. My move to help clear the air.

Nah, just a little msg to say that what went on has been noted. Why it was 2 years ago and EVERYONE involved has gone on to great things. What is there to be noted? ctrlaltdelete have morphed into a great project Mt. and are an integral part of the Motivesounds label of which they are a great credit. The Last Project have supported Babyshamles in Dundee, at the Barras twice and also supported the Arctic Monkeys in Tuts and along with being played for a whole week on XFM Scotland, only good things beckon. The Needles have released a well acclaimed album with rave reviews from Zane Lowe and many other industry hacks. And The Apsherons are still pulling plenty of people doing the rounds in Glasgow with 2 EP releases under their belt as well. As for myself and Jim, we're kept busy with many projects of our own including The Omnibus, The Garden, 2 record labels and looking after 2 bands. So it was a learning curve for everyone and it seems we all came out better for it in the end, even if it seemed shite at the time.

no, my post wasn't about 2 years ago, I was however making a note of recent events and how bad feelings etc on this forum seems to repeat.

I reckon it wold have made more sense to title the thread differently and explained what it meant more. To look at that thread title and only see a link to that dreadful thread seemed a little daft to me(as i've spoke personally about with Blair).
But it is good to see how far people and bands have come on in the last year or 2, as i mentioned in the feature Beatin' Planks got in Thurs paper if anybody seen it?

All in all, i miss it, i wish it was still there, i wish i was still there. oh defintitely blair, before this thread i was on the motive board all the time, (and consequently got into alot of cyberspace guffuffles, and aired some opinions which, in hindsight, i regret), after this thread kicked off bigtime i stopped going on...until now(!), (jut thought id see whether my password etc still worked, so i might be "hooked" gain now now!) anyway after this thread i became really good friends with the "motive posse" mark, ben (who i sit next to at work now-when he is in, lol, only joking ben!), and the manatees boys as for the thread itself, i have just been sad enought to read each and every post, and although entertaining, it was dissapointing to see some of the opinions expressed in it...it was almost like the "lock stock and two smoking barrels forum thread", with a fairytale ending from mark...it WILL "go down in musical history" well this may be my swansong again for a good few months, "unless i get the motive board shakes" lol "I was the shadow of the waxwing slain/By the false azure of the window pane/I was the fluff of ashen smuff/And i lived on, flew on in the reflected sky."
